Valley of Visions Landscape Partnership Scheme
Supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

Valley of Visions is an exciting three year, £2.5 million scheme, funded primarily by theHeritage Lottery project working towards positive change in the Medway Gap. Led by the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit (AONB), Valley of Visions is working with a host of partners, landowners and the local community to conserve and enhance the landscape, wildlife, heritage and access of the Medway Gap whilst encouraging local people to learn about, conserve and celebrate their local area.

Local people are a fundamental part of Valley of Visions and we are keen to work with local people and communities to help deliver our projects. There are plenty of opportunities for local people to get involved including community archaeology, free events and training courses and many volunteering opportunities.

A Halling-specific project that Valley of Visions is undertaking involves the Bishop’s Palace where we are working to conserve and enhance the grounds and rich industrial heritage of this Scheduled Ancient Monument whilst creating a welcoming and desirable open space for local people. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with this project including hands-on community archaeology. Regular project updates will be featured on the Valley of Visions website . Click here for the latest update (PDF file & needs Adobe Acrobat.)  If you would like to receive these updates directly, please contact us to be added to the Bishop’s Palace mailing list.

If you would like to find out more about Valley of Visions, specific projects, opportunities to get involved and our partners, please visit our website www.valleyofvisions.org.uk or contact us at mail@vov.kentdowns.org.uk or Valley of Visions, The Cedars, Holborough Road, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5PW.
