Clubs and Societies

Garden Society -- Mrs P Catchpole, Manor Farm, Marsh Rd, Lower Halling ME2 1DB phone 01634 240480.
We are a community organization dedicated to sharing information about plants and good gardening practices. Membership is open to the public and fees are £3 per year. We hold a Spring and Autumn Flower and Vegetable Show at Halling Jubilee Hall. Small entry and exhibit fees charged. Prizes are awarded! We also have guest speakers throughout the year share their gardening knowledge and make visits to local public as well as members' gardens. Find us on Facebook as Halling Garden Society!!

Historical Society -- Evening meetings are normally 7.30 pm, in the Jubilee Hall, Browndens Road, Upper Halling, ME2 1JH,  Refreshments and raffle at meetings. Annual membership: £10. Youth Club -- Community Centre, Lower Halling phone 07518 931508. Open on Fridays 6.00 pm to 7-30pm in the Community Centre for 8 to 11 year olds and 7-45pm to 9-15pm for 11.5 to 15 years old.    

HALARA -- Carole Nunn, Hon. Secretary phone 01634 716049.  Over 50's most welcome, only £10.00 per year.  Our activities include short mat bowls, outings, rambles, pub lunches etc.  We have a Lunch Club run by a team of three ladies, who cook an excellent two course meal. This is usually on the First Monday of the month.
The third Monday of the month Ten Pin Bowling from 10am at the Hollywood Bowl.
The third Wednesday in the month is the Ramble which is more like an amble and enjoyed by many of the Members. Those who don't want to do the walk usually meet up at the chosen pub for lunch.
Wednesday evenings Short Mat Bowls at the Community Centre, from 7pm-9pm.
Thursday morning - Tai Chi at the Jubilee Hall. (the day may alter - TBC)
Thursday afternoon - Short Mat Bowls at the Community Centre, from 2pm-4pm.
The first three Fridays of the month - Water Colour Painting at the Jubilee Hall, from 2pm-4pm. All levels of experience welcome from beginners upwards.
The last Friday of the month is the Members Meeting at the Jubilee Hall, from 2pm-4pm.
There are at least 2 outings a year, Theatre Trips, Cream Tea, Fish & Chip Lunch and many more events in the pipeline.
