A number of years ago a gap on Public Footpath RS 320 on Halling Marsh was created when the soil was washed away in an autumn flood. (footpath is to the left after the second barrier on Marsh Road).

There have been a number of meetings to discuss the problem and it was going to be filled in by Cemex, but that did not happen. The Parish Council looked into installing a bridge across the gap and in the meantime Medway Footpath Volunteers created temporary steps on each side of the culvert.

Following further investigation the land owner to the west of the culvert arranged for a repair to be carried out (cost of materials will be paid). Now after many years and regular pressure from some local residents, it has been repaired.

The Environment Agency maintain the footpath from the river to past the culvert, Medway Footpath volunteers have cleared the path to Marsh Road.
