The Halling Parish Council have agreed the budget for 2023/24 and the precept (money to be collected from Halling residents, which leads to the Parish Council element of the Council Tax to be charged from the 1st April).

The bills from April contain the precept amounts for Medway Council, The Police, Fire Service etc. which forms almost all of the council tax bill. Bands A-C are proportionally lower than the band D figure, down too half, and bands E to G proportionally higher), up to double.

The Parish Council have agreed to fund some of next year's expenditure from the parish council's reserves which means a slightly lower Precept demand, which translates to a freeze on the amount to be paid by Halling residents, with no reductions in planned expenditure and an allocation to Coronation events, also paid from reserves.

The Precept is £51,850 down from £52,000 and the Band D Council Tax for the village will remain at £36.06 a year (same as this year) just £3 a month/c. 60p per week.
